Innovative Marketing Idea As a publican you will always be approached by charities and sporting organisations wanting you to either give them money or helping them raise money. One of the better ideas we have seen was when a friend of ours was 'locked up' in a jail which was prominently displayed in a local Shopping Mall. His task was to raise $ before he would be freed from jail. His only possessions were a mobile telephone and his telephone directory. Our pal called his many friends to tell of his being 'locked up in a jail'. He asked would they contribute $ to bail him out. All the money raised went to the Smith Family Charity. It was a hugely successful promotion. We were so impressed with the idea we gave $ to speed up his release.
